Sexual and reproductive health profiles

By Public Health England (2014)

The Sexual and Reproductive Health Profiles have been developed by Public Health England (PHE) to support local authorities, public health leads and other interested parties to monitor the sexual and reproductive health of their population and the contribution of local public health related systems.

The profiles are presented as interactive maps, charts and tables that provide a snapshot of sexual and reproductive health across a range of topics including teenage pregnancy, abortions, contraception, HIV, sexually transmitted infections and sexual offences. Wider influences on sexual health such as alcohol use, and other topics particularly relating to teenage conceptions such as education and deprivation level, are also included.

Contraceptive services with a focus on young people up to the age of 25

By NICE (2014)

This guidance recommends that doctors, nurses and pharmacists provide information about the full range of contraceptives available, including emergency contraception and long-acting reversible contraception, and the benefits and side effects for young people up to the age of 25. It also states that all young people in England should be given access to contraception and advice at convenient locations so no-one is denied services because of where they live.

Improving access to health care for Gypsies and Travellers, homeless people and sex workers

This guidance argues that radical changes are needed to meet the healthcare needs of vulnerable groups. It makes recommendations towards more communication and joined up working between health, social care and voluntary services targeted at marginalised groups; and greater integration between health and housing services to identify and treat health problems associated with poor living conditions.
