Sarcoma Awareness Month- July 2021: Where can I find out more?

#SarcomaAwarenessMonth runs for the whole of July. Did you know that bone sarcomas affect less than 500 people in the UK each year, making it a very rare form of cancer?

Also, not all bone cancers will be sarcomas. Soft tissue sarcomas can affect any part of the body; they develop in supporting or connective tissue such as the muscle, nerves, fatty tissue, and blood vessels.

Throughout July, The Christie Library will be highlighting resources which can help you find out more about this rare form of bone cancer.

If you’re a Christie member of staff, you can use your NHS OpenAthens account to access ClinicalKey.

ClinicalKey gives you instant access to:

  • Full-text reference books and journals including Lancet Oncology, Cancer Treatment Reviews and Journal of the American College of Radiology.
  • Clinical Overviews that provide succinct, easy-to-navigate summaries for quick answers
  • Medical and procedure videos and images
  • Customizable patient education handouts
  • Practice guidelines
  • Clinical calculators and more

There is lots of information to find in your ClinicalKey account about this disease here: https://www.clinicalkey.com/#!/search/sarcoma
