The Cochrane Library is a collection of high-quality independent evidence to inform healthcare decision-making.
The Cochrane library promotes evidence-informed health decision-making by producing high-quality, relevant, accessible systematic reviews and other synthesized research evidence.
Their work is internationally recognised as the benchmark for high-quality information about the effectiveness of health care and is generally known as the ‘Gold Standard’ for systematic reviews.
We have been made aware that some members of the trust are having difficulty accessing Royal Marsden online. We are working towards getting this issue resolved and will inform you of updates when this issue has been rectified.

This week is Health Information Week, a national, multi-sector campaign promoting high-quality information for patients and the public.
Health Information Week 2020 runs from 6th to 12th July and focuses on the themes of:
• Finding information you can trust
• Wellbeing
During this week the library has been promoting both themes via the library blog and in the Gosall Library.
In our final post in this series we would like to introduce you to the Library Evidence Hub; a resource bank of carefully selected material that has been collected together with the aim of being a one-stop shop for staff and students who work and study at LSCFT.
Read here for more details and a user guide to get you started.
Whilst the Gosall Library is currently unstaffed and we are not able to deal with physical books on the behalf of our members, there are plenty of resources available online via OpenAthens
Please visit the Library Information page on Trustnet for more information and links to each resource. Resources available via OpenAthens include:-
Royal Marsden Manual
Maudsley Prescribing Guidelines
BMJ Best Practice
Anatomy.tv
If you do not already have an OpenAthens account you can register here. Alternatively, if you email us at academic.library@lancashirecare.nhs.uk with your job title we can set up an account for you.
