It warns that the current system of support for those with learning disabilities or autism is letting down some of the most vulnerable children in the country.

National survey of local innovation and research needs of the NHS

This report outlines the findings from a survey to identify local NHS innovation and research needs. The views of local health stakeholders, including clinical leaders, managers and directors, within each Academic Health Science Networks region were collected through qualitative interviews with 61 people and a questionnaire which received more than 250 responses in total. The report outlines the national findings from the survey with local health and social care stakeholders. It includes a detailed analysis of the innovation and research needs at local level across all AHSNs.

Working well together: evidence and tools to enable co-production in mental health commissioning

This resource was commissioned by NHS England to support delivery of the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health and the NHS Long Term Plan and the resource provides the evidence and tools to enable coproduction in mental health commissioning. The document aims to improve local strategic decisions about, and the provision of, current and future mental health services for children, young people, adults and older adults. The recommendations from this document are aimed at commissioners of mental health services, as well as people who need mental health services, their families, friends and carers, and those who work in mental health care and support.

Anatomy TV is an online anatomy resource which gives you access to interactive 3D graphic models of human anatomy, as well as dissection radiology slides, animations and videos. National Health Servers: delivering digital health for all

This report looks at how technology could be adopted quicker and more widely by the NHS to improve the care that patients receive and to drive better health outcomes. The report tracks the patient journey, from prevention and diagnosis in the community, into primary and secondary care, through into management of long-term conditions. As well as improving the care experience in primary and secondary care, the report argues that there are huge opportunities to keep patients out of the NHS: prevention of disease can reduce the likelihood of people having to enter hospital care in the first place; better digital management of long-term conditions can help avoid unnecessary readmissions into hospital.

State of the nation 2018-19: social mobility in Great Britain

The Social Mobility Commission’s State of the Nation 2018 to 2019 report highlights inequality in Britain and sets out key findings and recommendations. The report finds that the gap in school attainment and income between the rich and the poor has barely shifted in the past four years. Being born privileged still means you usually remain privileged, whereas there are significant barriers to social mobility for those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
