The spread challenge: How to support the successful uptake of innovations and improvements in health care

- It highlights why health care improvement programmes need to be designed in more sophisticated ways if ambitions to improve health care services are to be realised.
- Health care improvement is not only about finding innovative solutions to the challenges facing the health service, but also how to ensure these solutions are taken up successfully across the NHS. Challenging traditional ways of thinking, the report argues that programmes to spread innovation and improvement should support those adopting an idea developed elsewhere, as well as innovators.

The Reader shared reading project – launch event 9th October 2018
Lancashire Care is working with The Reader charity to set up shared reading groups in our inpatient services at The Harbour and Guild Lodge. We are holding an event on Tuesday 9th October at 1pm in the Sports Hall at The Harbour to launch the project and provide an opportunity for staff and service users to find out more. Everyone is welcome so please come along. Dominic Kelly, a professional storyteller, is giving a performance and refreshments will be served.

Putting Health into Place: Introducing NHS England’s Healthy New Towns programme

NHS England Healthy New Towns programme has released a leaflet introducing the 10 Healthy New Town Principles: Putting Health into Place. These principles will support partners in housebuilding, local government, healthcare and local communities to demonstrate how to create new places that offer people improved choices and chances for a healthier life. A substantive publication showcasing the learning from the programme, and providing practical ‘how to’ advice for those involved in creating new places will be released in March 2019.
