NHS England has been urged to take further action after a new report highlighted the “racialised patterns” of occupational risk faced by emergency clinicians during the coronavirus pandemic.
Baricitinib – CEBM
Severe COVID-19 is characterized by lung damage, which can be associated with very high concentrations of circulating cytokines (cytokine storm), including interleukin-6 (IL-6). Baricitinib modulates the production of cytokines, and has therefore been suggested as a possible treatment for severe COVID-19.
Drug-induced Liver Injury in a Patient With Coronavirus Disease 2019: Potential Interaction of Remdesivir With P-Glycoprotein Inhibitors – Clinical Infectious Diseases
This case report describes a critically-ill patient with Covid-19 who developed hepatotoxicity 5 days after remdesivir was started; rapid decreases in ALT and AST were seen upon its discontinuation. An interaction with amiodarone (started 2 days after remdesivir) is proposed.
