The Nuffield Trust has published an infographic The NHS as an anchor institution. This infographic illustrates how NHS organisations act as anchor institutions in their local communities and positively influence the social, economic and environmental conditions to support healthy people and communities.

The changing face of clinical commissioning
NHS Clinical Commissioners has published The changing face of clinical commissioning. This report showcases the unique perspective brought by clinical commissioners – the clinical expertise, collaborative working with provider and local government colleagues, and an understanding of the population’s needs in the system in which they operate – and argues that these are essential components to developing integrated services that are fit for purpose and get the best value for each NHS pound.
21st Century social care
The Think tank Policy Exchange has published 21st Century Social Care. This research paper explores the nature and extent of the problems affecting the provision of social care in the UK. It identifies how these problems have evolved from the institutional structures developed for providing health and social care and offers proposals for complex, long-term social care in England.
Social care funding
IPPR has published Social care: free at the point of need: the case for free personal care in England. This paper sets out new research and bold policy proposals which aim to address the growing crisis in social care. Its recommendations aim to improve the efficiency of health and social care services in England by joining up health and social care policy and delivering a more preventative model of care.
Centre for Perioperative Care
The Royal College of Anaesthetists has launched the Centre for Perioperative Care. The Centre for Perioperative Care (CPOC) is a cross-specialty centre dedicated to the promotion, advancement and development of perioperative care.
