Does the primary care home make a difference? Understanding its impact – National Association of Primary Care (NAPC)
The primary care home (PCH) model was developed by NAPC to help improve the delivery of care, health and wellbeing and the sustainability of NHS finances. 15 sites are currently trialling the PCH model and this report summarises progress so far in three of the rapid test sites. The evaluation finds that PCH could support the deliver of STPs and highlights improved staff retention, productivity and satisfaction.
Adapting for the future: a plan for improving the flexibility of UK postgraduate medical training – General Medical Council (GMC)
Following a review of medical training, the GMC have responded to recommendations that greater flexibility in training paths for doctors is required. The recommendations outlined in this report cover the organisation of specialities curriculums, focusing on outcomes rather than time spent in training and reducing the burden of the GMC’s approval system and UK legislation to enable a more agile training system.
Integration 2020: scoping research – Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE)
This research was commissioned by the Department of Health to inform the development of the integration standard and the next phase of plans to integrated health and social care. The integration standard would enable the collection of qualitative and quantitative data to measure the progress and performance within local areas. This report presents the findings of scoping research and engagement to better understand what integrated health should look like by 2020; testing out the integration standard and how feedback and support should be used to develop the standard.
