North West trust needs £25m loan to pay staff and suppliers – Health Service Journal
Tameside Hospital Foundation Trust has said it needs a £25m loan this year to keep paying staff and suppliers. The troubled Manchester trust is planning a deficit of £25.8m in 2015-16 and says it needs the money “to mitigate against the adverse cash flow”, according to board papers for last month.

Healthy conversations and the allied health professionals
The Royal Society for Public Health and Public Health England has published Healthy Conversations and the Allied Health Professionals. This report illustrates that allied health professionals are having a significant positive impact on the public’s health and with further support this could make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of the population.
Toolkit for general practice in supporting older people with frailty and achieving the requirements of the Unplanned Admissions Enhanced Service (2014) – NHS England
The development of this toolkit is a collaboration between New Devon CCG, NHS Kernow and the NHS England Devon, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Area Team. Following masterclasses held across Devon and Cornwall for GPs and practice staff in May 2014, there were requests for a common approach to case finding, assessment, care planning and case management of frail older people. There was also a request to provide tools to support practices in achieving the Unplanned Admissions Enhanced Service (ES).
Mid Essex rated ‘requires improvement’ after unregistered staff concerns – Health Service Journal
The Care Quality Commission has rated Mid Essex Hospital Services Trust as ‘requires improvement’ following an inspection that found unregistered staff were providing nursing care. The regulator was so concerned by the findings it took immediate action against the trust by imposing an urgent condition on its registration.

Improved CCG GP2GP utilisation report
A new utilisation report is available to CCGs aimed at helping identify barriers to using GP2GP. The GP2GP team produce a monthly CCG GP2GP utilisation report showing all practices within England (live and not live with GP2GP) and detailed information to enable CCGs (and where designated, CSUs), to fully understand the utilisation of GP2GP within each region. Guidance and frequently asked questions are included in the report to help users better understand common queries, possible issues and scenarios. This report includes full details of each practice’s GP2GP requesting, sending and integration activity which should help identify potential barriers to using GP2GP. The new report will be emailed between the 10th and 15th of every month to subscribers.
