Duty of candour and fit and proper person for directors – NHS Employers
On 11 November 2014, the Government published the fundamental standards regulations, and confirmed that the duty of candour and the fit and proper person requirements for directors will come into effect for all NHS bodies (including NHS trusts and Foundation Trusts) from 27 November, 2014. These two new requirements will be extended to all other health and care providers required to register with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) from April 2014 (still subject to Parliamentary approval).
